Purification Day 9, Championship Sunday!

Purification Day 9.

Sunday was an anomaly. I didn’t cheat, but I didn’t do everything right either. It’s funny how you get into a rhythm with things when you are busy. My workweek is more structured than my weekend so I know when things are supposed to happen and plan for that. Sunday was a lazy day. I ran some errands in the morning and then of course, being a guy, I had to watch the AFC and NFC Championships yesterday.

As a result of having a non-structured day was that I missed my taking one round of my SP Green Food supplements and I didn’t drink enough water! I really felt a difference in my energy level when I didn’t hydrate properly. I think I managed a total of about 30 oz all day (not including my smoothies).

I was definitely more tired yesterday but what I really noticed was that my sleep was off last night. I woke at 3:30 with a vague sense of anxiety. I was able to get back to sleep but it wasn’t a deep and restful sleep. I woke again at 5:15 and didn’t get back to sleep. My alarm went off at 6 AM as usual and I found myself starting the day a bit groggy!

I am resolving to drink the required water for my body weight today. I got up and had a 16oz glass of hot lemon water first thing. It perked me up for sure.

Hydration is so important! Over 70% of Americans don’t drink enough water and it has major concequences for their health. Water is essential for every chemical process in the body. It is certainly impossible to have good elimination with out water!

How much do you need? It depends on how active you are but a good rule of thumb is a half-ounce of water for every pound of body weight. You simply take your body weight number, divide it in half and that is the number of ounces you should be drinking every day. If you are very physically active in your job or work out a lot, increase that number to two thirds of your body weight.

Essentially, with the exception of your first urination of the day, your urine should be clear or straw colored. If it is darker than that you are possibly dehydrating yourself!

Well onto day 9. I have to go organize my cooler for the day and get ready for work.

Purification Week 2 Begins!

Purification Day 8.

Well, interesting development. I have lost 6 lbs in 7 days on the purification program. Here are the official numbers as of this morning. Body weight 167.4 lbs (173.4 at the start), Percentage of body fat 16.1 (16.8 at the start), Percentage as water weight 60% (up from 59.6%).

Believe me, I am not trying to lose weight. Heck, I’m not even working out! I have just been eating clean and hydrating and taking the supplements that came with the program! Clearly I haven’t lost water weight because that number has risen as a percentage of my weight.

So far, I have been eating more protein than the program calls for just because I didn’t want to lose too much weight. I certainly don’t want to lose any muscle mass. Seems like it is coming off as fat burning. Eliminating the processed carbs has certainly had a dramatic effect!

Regardless, I am feeling pretty good. Energy over all is very sustained. I am not getting the afternoon sleepies as I normally do after lunch, necessitating a cup of coffee or quick power nap…

Since I am now on day 8, I can stop taking the SP Cleanse capsules. I was taking 7 caps three times a day. Now I have shifted over to the SP Green Food which is a concentrated mix of dark green veggies from kale, brussel sprouts, cabbage and other cruciferous veggies. I have to take 5 caps two times a day. Very do-able…

So far so good! All in all it has been a pretty good experience. I has turned out to be a lot less stressful than I originally anticipated.

If you feel like you need to get on track and take control of you eating you really should take a look at this purification program. If you would like to learn more feel free to contact me. If you have a comment please feel free post it below. I would love to hear from you!
