Study maps effects of acupuncture on the brain
This is a very interesting article. Hopefully, as the effect of acupuncture is more greatly understood by western science the skeptics will fall by the wayside.
ScienceDaily (2010-02-05) — New research about the effects of acupuncture on the brain may provide an understanding of the complex mechanisms of acupuncture and could lead to a wider acceptability of the treatment.
Purification Day 10. What is lunch really costing you?

Here is the reality: There are some minor cravings, but I have found that if you are good about eating on a regular schedule they are very manageable. Two things that can trigger hunger and cravings are low blood sugar and dehydration. I find as long as I am drinking adequately and I have food readily at hand I can ride out temptation.
The other thing that is nice about this program is that I am developing a system for managing my daytime meals. Now that I have the “Cooler System” down pat I can see myself bring my food with me long after the Purification Program is over.
It really is a simple thing to pack your own lunch and snacks for the day. I just wasn’t set up for it. It is really nice not having to run out starving at lunch, make a bad food choice like a big, bread laden, sub or sandwich that is going to spike my blood sugar and cholesterol!
Think about the types of food we eat at lunch! Fat and sugar laden deli meats, fast food, pizza etc. Then of course are the snacks we eat during our breaks! A lot of people head to the vending machine for bag of chips or worse.
Eating clean does take a little effort but not a lot. I lost 6 pounds and more importantly am spending less money than running out and dropping 7 or 8 bucks on a sandwich and chips! And yes that is the average cost of lunch these days. Think about it. A month of lunches at $8 bucks a pop is $160! That is not even considering what our coffee and snack breaks cost us.
So, lets consider that. A trip to Dunkin Donuts for a medium coffee and a muffin is just around 4 bucks. If you do that 4 or 5 days per week, tack on an additional $80 per month! When you combine the cost of lunch and snacks out, that would pay for the purchase of the Purification Kit and a lot of food! The kit already replaces at least one meal with the shake provided!
Beyond the purchase of the kit I have spent an additional $170 on food that includes my ALL of my meals from the start of the program to date. Factor in that I bought too much in the way of fresh fruits and veggies to start (rookie mistake) that number easily drops by 50 bucks. Also, part of that cost went into buying staples like really good olive oil and flax seeds and such and I bought enough chicken and fish to last a month of meals.
Good, healthy food does cost a little more but if you are cutting out the middleman by not going out for lunch every day you can easily pay for eating a better and more healthy menu! Just a thought… Let me know what you think! Leave a comment below or feel free to give me a call!
